Duration of stay

1)Normally the duration of stay at the board is five days .

Facilities at the board

1)Free transport facilities

2)Furnished accommodation

3)Free medical facilities .

4)Free messing

5)Indoor games ,ante room ,tv and magazines .

Schedule of test 

The ssb follows a well organised system of testing the candidate from many different angles . The five day period consist of two stages -stage 1 and stage 2 .

Stage I-Screening Test 

Stage II-Psychological test ,Group test and Interview .

note -Airforce candidates who applied for 'pabt' have to first appear for pabt .those who are rejected in the test can never reappear for it .

COMPOSITION OF SERVICE SELECTION BOARDS 
1.THE INTERVIEWING OFFICER: Who comprise of the president and the Deputy president .
2.The Group testing officer :Populary known as gto's .Each board consist of 4 Gto's.
3.The pshycologist :4 on each ssb board .

PROCEDURE 
SSB CALL LETTERS
1)ON THE BASIS OF THE WRITTEN RESULTS CALL LETTERS ARE ISSUED TO THE SUCCESFULL CANDIDATES TO APPEAR BEFORE ANY OF THE SSB .
2)THE CALL LETTER CONTAIN THE INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED BY THE CANDIDATES DURING THEIR STAY AT THE SSB
3)THE CALL LETTER CLEARLY SPECIFIES THE FROM THE BOARD REPRESENTATIVES WOULD PICK THE CANDIDATES AND TAKE THEM TO THE PLACE OF THEIR STAY.
4)PRELIMS START AT THE BOARD IMMEDIATELY -LIKE FILLING THE PIQ .



WELCOMING THE CANDIDATES
1)THE CANDIDATES ARE RECIEVED AT THE STATION BY THE SSB REPRESENTATIVE
2)THEY ARE ACCOMODATED IN THE BOARD'S AREA.


FORMATION OF GROUPS
1) THE CANDIDATES ARE DIVIDED INTO GROUPS OF 8-10 ON THE DAY OF THEIR ARRIVAL .
2)THEY ARE ISSUED CHEST NUMBERS.
3)THEY HAVE TO WEAR CHEST NUMBERS DURING THE TESTING PHASE .

BIO DATA OR PIQ
1)AFTER THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE CHEST NUMBERS THE CANDIDATES ARE GIVEN FORMS TO FILL IN THE PERSONAL PARTICULARS .THIS FORM IS KNOW AS PERSONAL INFORMATION QUESTIONNAIRE .
2) THE CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO EXCERCISE PRECAUTION WHILE FILLING UP THE PIQ FORM .

Service selection Boards

Five day procedure that is used by assessors to judge a candidate suitablilty to join forces .I guess one of the toughest interview selection procedure that test the candidates Officers like qualites(olq's).Its a projection test that projects candidates various qualities by making them go through psyhcological ,group task and personal interview . SSBs in nut- shell endeavor to fathom the personality profile of the aspirant, reading dynamics of psychophysical system and determine the characteristic behavior & thought..

SSB PROCEDURE -.   


    Stage I : - The day after You reach the ssb location
             Day 1 : Screening Test

i.  IQ Test - Verbal and Non verbal
  ii. Picture Perception & Description Test / Discussion

    Only For Air Force :-  Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT)(For those who want to opt for flying cadre)             

i. Part 1:-  Instrument Reading Test(Written Test)
   ii.Part 2:-  Machine Test on computers

   Note: Candidates qualifying Stage 1 will continue to undergo Stage II others will be returned on this day.Most of the candidates clear this round given if they follow certain rules and regulations that will be discussed later .
